In our clients' words

Eugénie is the reason we felt ready to sell. We needed the full commercial stack before we could go to market, customer terms, privacy, the data agreement, the subscription contract and she stayed in it with us until we were actually confident to put it in front of customers. Dedicated, sharp, and an A-player. If you are taking a company to market and you want counsel who treats that as her job, work with her.

George T.

Frequently asked questions

Not yet. In its December 2025 National AI Plan, the Australian Government chose to rely on existing laws, such as the Privacy Act, Australian Consumer Law, anti-discrimination and online safety laws, supported by the voluntary AI Safety Standard. Those laws already apply to how you build and use AI. If you sell into the EU or UK, their rules may apply too.

It can. The Act can apply to providers and deployers outside the EU where an AI system is placed on the EU market or its output is used in the EU. We assess your position and explain exactly what it means for your product.

It depends on the jurisdiction, the AI tool’s terms and how much human input was involved. In Australia, copyright generally requires a human author, so purely AI-generated material may have limited protection. We review how you and your contractors use AI and put the contracts and IP assignments in place to protect ownership, including for investor due diligence.

Yes, it is sensible to have one. A short AI acceptable use policy protects confidential and client information, sets clear rules on which tools staff can use and how, and reduces privacy and IP risk.

From 10 December 2026, privacy policies must explain when personal information is used in automated decisions that could significantly affect individuals. If your product or business uses AI or algorithms to make or support those decisions, your privacy policy and internal processes should be updated before then.

Yes. Based in Newcastle, Sydney and London, we advise businesses moving personal data between Australia, the UK and the EU, including international transfer mechanisms, data processing agreements and meeting Privacy Act, UK GDPR and EU GDPR obligations together.

Yes. We draft SaaS terms of service, subscription agreements and platform terms built around how you sell, from self-serve sign-up through to enterprise negotiations.
